Which bird meets the APA or ABA Standard of Perfection?

The Poultry Judging event is an opportunity for you to test what you have learned with real-life experience as a "Junior Judge" - just the way our judges do for Exhibition events.  For this event, an experienced breeder donates 4 birds of the same breed and color for you to examine & compare.  Using what you have learned about confirmation (how a bird is to look & stand) and breed standards, you have the chance to compare each bird and decide who should get first, second, and third place on a scorecard.   MJC student judges will compare all entries, select the best choice as "junior judge," and award 1st through 4th place in each age group/category: 5-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-13 years, and 14-18 years.

If you have not registered for showmanship or exhibition, please check in at the registration table when you arrive to receive your Exhibitor's number. Each child needs their own number to participate in events such as the poster, photo, knowledge quiz, poultry judging, or obstacle course. Follow the signs or ask for assistance at the desk if you have questions about where to register.
